Just some pictures from assembing this gigantic Lego model with 5197 pieces.

The pieces come in a large pile of bags. Coke can for scale. First step was to sort out the parts to streamline assembly.

Even with everything sorted, it still took around 14 hours to put it together.

An internal frame is built first, then the feet are added to prop it up, and then everything else attaches to the frame.

It’s a large enough scale that the cockpit can hold minifigs. The X-Wing pictured next to it is a more typical size. It also weighs about 20 pounds so it has a lot of support underneath, and just picking it up to move it around can be awkward.
