Blue Angels

Some pictures from the Blue Angels F/A-18 jets practicing on 2021-05-25 for their Naval Academy graduation show the next day. I had a good view from a friend’s boat, right across the water from downtown Annapolis.

2017 Partial Eclipse

It was cloudly and even starting to rain, but then right around the local maximum (~80%) it cleared up. I used a big pair of binoculars to project the image onto a piece of foam board, though because the board was facing the Sun I had to hold up another piece in order to see the projected image in shadow.

HOW TO SURVIVE

A cheery safety poster found in Wellington, NZ several years ago. In the week I was there at least three of these things occurred. Thankfully I did not see a wave.
