Just an assortment of photos from the past few months.

In Spring I get a lot of little red mites zipping around on my raised bed walls and some large stones. These are apparently sometimes referred to as “concrete mites”. They’re hard to photograph since they move around so much.

While visiting some old overgrown farm property I noticed an odd-looking plant, which turns out to be jimson weed. I didn’t even notice the green bugs inside the seed pod when I was taking the photo.

There was also a bulldozer that had been sitting for a while, and I noticed some odd zig-zag tracks across the surface. These are apparently made by the rasping tongues (radula) of snails or slugs eating the accumulated grime (algae?).

The daylilies in one of my flower beds have just started blooming.

And finally some miscellaneous plants that caught my eye the other day.
